UPDATE
I have nearly finished making my design brief randomizer. It allows users to control the possible outcomes whilst still providing a random set of instructions. In the video you cant see the print out as the ink in the printer is low. Thanks to Tobie Kerridge for helping with the arduino code and Ben for being there, and Matt for wiring my button.

COMING SOONISH
Read these words: Design Synthesizers, Design Disruptors, Randomizer. I'm making a few objects for designers to use to force an indeterminate influence on there work/method. Any suggestions on how this could apply to you, or how your personal design technique/style could be disrupted please let me know. Inventing new movement - The First Aleatoric School, be a part of it.

Here is a picture of the some mock-ups of a Design Disruptor I am currently working on.

THANKS DOG
Me and JONNY had the idea of creating a blog based on the things we loved in the hope of finding other like minded people. After a tireless effort from Jonny, this blog now exists, it is called DANKE CHIEN, and it is lovely. Opening posts include some brilliant short stories by Daniil Kharms and how HBO create their idents. Please check it out and follow our feed and our twitter, we also take suggestions for posts and will have some guest bloggers soon.

Here is a fake advert I made discussing the content of my previous post...sort of. Don't confuse this with project work or with anything worth watching. Voice over artists: Charlotte as Rachel, Ben as Matt and Ben as Expert.

AVERAGE MINUTES
Yesterday I made a group of people guess how long a minute was (no counting aloud), the closest was Rachel with 1:00.01, and the worst was 0:31.07 - but they shall remain nameless for fear of ridicule and embarrassment. From these guesses I was able to calculate the average length that people thought a minute was, which was 52 seconds. Below is a timer that incorporates this 'New Minute' (It's not apparent until after the first 52 seconds).

Also, here is an update from MPC

ELECTROWERKZ
Scans/Photos/Twitter/Facebook are all up from friday night. It was a great night, really cool venue, lovely people, we were next to the champagne bar, lovely. This is what a man said:

'Go Scan Yourself has proven that it can transcend environments. At galleries, design shows and even club nights, it is engaging and a bit cheeky. Simple but immediate interactive design'

30 MINUTE ZINE CHALLENGE
Me and CHRIS challenged ourselves to create a zine from scratch and print it, all in under 30 mins. The result was STARBURGER, a zine listing the films that were played on Friday. It were a laugh and I challenge you all to try it. Chris has titled it 'The Design and print a zine based on last weeks work and distribute at the "Design Cafe" within half an hour challenge'. Also I done THIS for Rachel.

UPDATE
As you may have noticed I have changed the look of my blog slightly. I have decided, as an attempt to separate updates about my final year at Goldsmiths and the rest of the dog plops that I post on here, to install a button in the top left of the page. This button collects all the delicious golden moments from my final major project together, which at the moment is a meagre 2 posts worth. I promise it will bulk up soon. Press it.

IMPRACTICLOCK© &
ALEATORIC DESIGN
I just had to do a couple of briefs in 10 days to generate final year project ideas. A couple of things that came out of the 10 days was a clock and a zine. The first being an entirely man powered clock (30 people to power it properly), the second a zine designed using a process that I've coined Aleatoric Design. Here is a demo of how the clock numbers change.

Also if you go HERE, there is a preview of a website that includes a video player that I made.

ACTING
Recently I played the lead role in a short film by MATT WEST called 'Mouse Trap'. The part was a real challenge as I had to portray 2 different emotions - happy (to be using a mouse) and sad (that I lost a finger). Watch the film HERE

On an unrelated note here is a terrible picture that has appeared on the internet via PAUL FOOTS FOOTOGRAPHY BLOG of myself posing with Paul and Matt.

BLUR FOOTAGE
Just found some footage of Blur at Rough Trade where you can see mine and Jonny's faces. If you are unfamiliar with this story (unlikely as we have told everybody we have seen) then see THIS blog entry I made a few days ago. To see the video go HERE. I had stepped out from the jumping people area as I couldn't take the heat. A little lame of me I know, but I gave up jumping a long time ago along with running, lifting and holding my breath.

ROOFTOP BBQ
On Wednesday me and the boys had a rooftop BBQ and then some people came round for a girl called Ella or Ellie's birthday. My bed being occupied, me and Jonny sat on the roof until about 8 the next morning and then watched Casino. Here is the pictorial evidence.
